You can set the wind light settings to not change during logins via advanced menu debug settings (can not remember the name but it is there). Or someone might tell me how I can enable ESDF, using some arcane setting deep in darkest corners of the options menus. Then again, maybe I’ll like how much easier it is to type directly to chat, so it’s possible even that will turn into a positive. I do a lot of flying, and having to rely on one hand to do it all, with the PgUp and PgDown and arrow keys, isn’t as comfortable or intuitive for me. So far, there’s really only one thing I can think of that I don’t like about Firestorm, and that’s the loss of the ESDF buttons to jump and fly. This is a great feature! Instructions are here: There’s a built-in multi-AO! It reduces lag and prevents me having to add a specific AO to every outfit. There are handy buttons with an array of options in the chat window, so I don’t have to right click and navigate menus to get to some of things I would want to do while in chat. You can copy/paste object settings, I’m told, which should make building easier if I do much more of at any point. It seems to run more smoothly (for me, anyway).Firestorm has RLV capabilities, like automatic teleporting (and so on).I don’t have to redo my Windlight selection every time I restart (though maybe there was a way to lock this in with the Linden viewer that I didn’t know about?).There’s no outfit pictures page getting in the way of my outfits listing. Now that I’m properly converted, though, I can find a lot of features that I like in this viewer! It’s just that I keep hearing people talk about the Firestorm viewer and that they prefer it, and I kept dabbling until I was sucked in, I suppose. So what changed? Why Firestorm? Is Firestorm better than the Linden Labs viewer? Honestly, I don’t know what changed, exactly. Not that I haven’t tried other viewers, or used Radegast in a pinch, but I haven’t really been inclined to go to the bother of switching. I went more than ten years using the Linden Labs Second Life viewer pretty much exclusively. Open Preferences, go to “Phoenix” –> “Misc” –> last option “activate RLV function”.
#Phoenix viewer rlv download
The RLV client is a free download for MS-Windows, MacOS-X and Linux, get it here: Much more information is available about it along with the download, and on the SL wiki. It is created from the Linden souce code. * The Restrained Life Viewer runs instead of the normal SecondLife Viewer, on the person’s computer. The Restraint Life Viewer or if you use Phoenix, a change in Phoenix preferences: After that, they are in control, and you may be forced to obey. The submissive must use the RLV in order to fully submit to their Owner, in SecondLife. When you submit to your Master or Mistress, they will instruct you to wear your control device like a RLV compatible collar or ring, or something with a RLV “relay” in it.You Owner will then tell you to give the device the “owner” command with their name. You can then manipulate them and only release them at your pleasure. After that, you are in control, and you can issue commands to the collar or ring directly. If you own RLV compatible dungeon furniture, like a rack or tank, you may also issue commands to it, which will cause the submissive to be captured and bound to it, against their will. When submissive submits to you, you will tell them to wear the control device and give it the “owner” command, with your name. The Restrained Life Viewer and the many RLV compatible restraints and controls are designed for Dominents (owners/Masters and Mistresses) and submissives (pets/”slaves”/etc) in SecondLife. The Dominant does not have to use the RLV, although many do, under their own control. The Dominant ensures that the sub is using the RLV and is wearing a control device like a collar or ring. THE ONLY WAY FOR A SUB TO GET OUT OF THESE RESTRICTIONS IS LOG OUT AND USE THE NORMAL VIEWER AGAIN (or beg the Dominant!) !!! * Isolate: Hide location, map and minimap, hide names of other avatars * Capture: Force sit and prevent stand up (even after a relog) on demand * Lock clothes: Attachments can be made undetachable (a collar for example!) * Force Strip or Dress: Adding/Removing clothes on demand, force attach or remove objects and outfits * Editing and Rezzing prevention on demand * Control TP: Teleport and sit-tp prevention on demand, with exceptions if needed * Gag: Chat and IM prevention on demand, with exceptions if needed The following things and more can be forced on the Sub, just by click, without their permission: RLV is a program which allows a Dominant controlling the Sub’s viewer.RLV gives Dominants th ability to really FORCE the Sub to do things! It makes your bondage experience in SL feel a little more “real”.
